Flow Switch Working Principle
Flow Detection:
- Mechanical Flow Switch: In a mechanical flow switch, a paddle or vane is placed inside the pipe where fluid flows. When fluid flows through the pipe, it pushes against the paddle, causing it to move.
- Electronic Flow Switch: In electronic flow switches, sensors such as ultrasonic, magnetic, or thermal sensors detect the flow without any moving parts.
Switch Activation:
- When the fluid flow reaches a certain threshold, the movement of the paddle (in a mechanical switch) or the sensor detection (in an electronic switch) causes the switch mechanism to change state. This could mean closing or opening an electrical circuit.
- If the flow stops or drops below the set threshold, the switch mechanism will revert to its original state.
Triggering an Action:
- The change in the switch mechanism triggers an action, such as sending an alert, turning on a pump, or shutting down equipment to prevent damage.
Feedback and Control:
